Christopher Price

FOUNDER, DIRECTOR & INSTRUCTOR

Christopher Price is a dedicated music educator, choral clinician, and passionate advocate for arts education in New York’s Capital District. With more than 25 years of teaching experience, Mr. Price has worked with students of all ages — from pre-kindergarten through college — in both public and private school settings. His teaching philosophy centers on building confidence, musical excellence, and a lifelong love of music in every student he teaches.

Throughout his career, Mr. Price has guided choirs and vocal ensembles to consistent musical success. His students have earned top honors in major adjudicated festivals, including Superior ratings at the University Interscholastic League (UIL) competitions in Texas and Gold and Gold-with-Distinction awards through the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA). Beyond awards, he takes the greatest pride in helping students discover their voices and grow as musicians and individuals.

Many of Mr. Price’s former students have continued their musical journeys as educators, performers, and recording artists, with some appearing on NBC’s The Voice and leading acclaimed choral ensembles of their own. His mentorship emphasizes strong vocal technique, musicianship, and the confidence to perform and lead.

Mr. Price currently teaches middle school and high school chorus in the Brunswick Central School District, where he leads one of the Capital Region’s most active and engaging choral programs. In addition to his school work, he serves as a music instructor with the Young Actors Guild and as Music Director at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Albany, continuing his commitment to community-based music making.

He holds a Master of Music in Performance from the Butler School of Music at The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Music degree from Northwestern State University’s School of Performing Arts in Louisiana.

Above all, Mr. Price believes music has the power to bring people together, inspire confidence, and create lasting community — values that remain at the heart of his teaching and leadership.

Leah Scott-Price

TEACHING ASSISTANT

Leah Scott-Price began singing, playing violin and learning music in elementary school and later learned to play saxophone.

  • Leah Scott-Price began singing, playing violin and learning music in elementary school and later learned to play saxophone. She spent seven seasons as a member of the Southeast Texas Youth Symphony, while alternating between orchestra and band programs throughout high school, and beyond. Along the way, through a shared love of music she met her husband, Christopher Price.

While Ms. Price ultimately chose to pursue degrees in business, earning both a BBA and MBA from Lamar University in Texas, music remained a major focus in her life. Over the past 25 years, she has performed with the University of New Orleans Wind Ensemble, Rice University and Houston Concert Bands, and UAlbany Jazz and Concert Bands, among others, including noted performances at the House of Blues in Houston.

Ms. Price’s musical theatre roots likewise run deep. Alternating her talents between the stage and pit orchestra, she has performed in numerous shows with the Beaumont Community Players, Playhouse 1960, and the Young Actors Guild of the Capital Region.

In addition to her music training, Ms. Price has maintained a successful career in education and communications, having worked at universities in both Texas and New York. She has extensive experience building and maintaining student-focused programs, working with diverse communities, and mentoring young talent. Ms. Price currently sings in the Albany Westminster Presbyterian Choir. And she will serve as a teaching assistant for the various programs offered at Concordia 518.
