Beginner Violin Ensemble

Grades 4-6

The Concordia 518 “Harmony Strings” is a beginner violin training program. Students in grades 4–6 who want to join a welcoming community of young beginner violists.

This ensemble is open to students wanting to learn how to play the violin, or as an introduction to string instruments (if the student plays other instruments.) No audition required. Students will learn the basics of the instrument, string-picking and bowing techniques, tuning and general instrument care.

No previous experience is required as all students will learn how to read music, participate in a musical ensemble, sight-reading, music education and music appreciation. Opportunities will be based on overall progression of the group and include concerts, individual development, private lesson opportunities, string techniques, and team building.
